This is a hand-woven Persian Smak Kilim made in Shiraz. Persia.

The base color is a mixture of orange and red.

This piece is modeled after a garden. with various types of flowers and vases woven into several squares.

A sumac kilim with an embroidered texture. Normally. is woven by passing a weft thread through the warp thread. but this piece uses a technique called sumac. in which an additional decorative thread is woven back and forth during the weaving process. This takes more time and effort to weave than a regular kilim.

This piece is made of high-quality wool and is tightly woven down to the finest detail. It is not thick and feels refreshing against the skin.
